['nevə(r)]
Note: When never is used to modify a verb (she never wears a hat, I've never seen him) it is translated ne...jamais in French; ne comes before the verb, and before the auxiliary in compound tenses, and jamais comes after the verb or auxiliary: elle ne porte jamais de chapeau, je ne l'ai jamais vu
When never is used without a verb, it is translated by jamais alone: ‘admit it!’ - ‘never!’ = ‘avoue-le!’ - ‘jamais’
